Snow at home!

Care for the environment and the aim to become 'greener' is a major consideration in the way that we live our lives.

When it comes to our business however, it's a little more difficult as we're committed to providing the absolute best in terms of service and quality; without doing that, we probably wouldn't have such a great business and be able to live the life we love, so there's a compromise - but we're trying!

We are constantly thinking of new ways to make our business more environmentally friendly. In particular, we do what we can to keep the amount of paper that we print on to a minimum: we only print for the album & photographs ordered. We don't print 'proofs' but instead encourage our clients to make use of our client area for viewing their images. We always email letters, contracts & receipts where possible - in fact, we have structured our business in such a way that almost everything is achieved electronically - until the weddings themselves!

Our biggest downfall in respect of our green ethics is the fact that we fly throughout Europe to photograph weddings and that our albums come from Australia! (The day that someone makes a product as good close to home, we'll be the first to check it out - but we're not holding our breath unfortunately.) The sad fact is that it is generally accepted that it takes the entire life-cycle of six good-sized trees to counter the effects of a single long-haul flight and so we have devised a plan that will help clear our conscience a little!

Plant a Tree: Our house in Umbria has an awful lot of land surrounding it and we have decided that for each return flight that the two of us make, we will plant a tree. We haven't exactly worked out what we'll be planting and we'll have to think carefully about when we actually plant the trees to give them the best chance of survival in this particularly warm & dry climate, but we're determined to do something environmentally-positive. We're more than open to other suggestions as well so drop us a line with any thoughts or suggestions!
