Wedding Photographer: Brocket Hall

One of England's very finest country estates and a truly beautiful place to marry. Brocket Hall is one of the finest stately homes that there is. You enter the gates and drive through the Golf Course, over the photogenic stone bridge, alongside Broadwater Lake and you arrive at the grand facade of Brocket Hall.

Situated in 534 acres of mature parkland, the word that best describes Brocket Hall is 'grand.' A central, sweeping staircase, antique furnishings, oil paintings, the fascinating Ballroom (more about that later) and beautiful Suites display pure opulence and beauty. Available on an exclusive basis only, could Brocket Hall be the wedding venue for you?

Brocket Hall: History

'No other can claim to have been the home to two British prime ministers, played host to George IV and witnessed the infamous Lady Caroline Lamb introduce the Waltz to England in their Ballroom.' Quoted from Brocket Hall's 'About Us.'

The Gardens & Views

Ensure you leave a little time on your wedding day at Brocket Hall to have some time with your photographer. The Golf Course grounds are immaculate but to get beautiful shots in and around the grounds, you'll need to spend a little time away from the hall. The area around the stone bridge is beautiful and gives a lovely view of Brocket Hall behind you.

The views of the Lake seem to be stunning in whichever direction you head in!

It may be a good idea to hire a golf buggy to drive you around for half an hour or so - especially if the heels are a wee bit high!

The Ballroom

This room is dripping in opulence, beauty and rich history. Each piece of artwork and each mirror hanging has its own story. Originally furnished by Lord Melbourne to entertain royalty, the room will seat up to 150 people.

When not set-up for a large wedding, the Ballroom houses the second oldest and longest table in Britain - the Prime Minister's dining table. Second only to that in age and length to one at Windsor Castle.

All-in-all, it's an honour to be able to photograph in such a special room.

You could get ready in the Queen Victoria Suite. The room that Queen Victoria stayed in several times during her many visits to see her Prime Minister. A beautiful room with views out over the Well Lawn and woods beyond.

Fireworks!

Finish your big day off with a firework display. This works especially well at Brocket Hall as the fireworks are set-up on the other side of the Lake. This means that they can be a complete surprise for the guests and also they reflect in the water so you get two displays! The photograph here left shows how the smoke from the fireworks sits over the Lake creating a beautiful and eerie view. Brilliant!

If 'grand' is what you're after then Brocket Hall can provide it in abundance. It really is a beautiful place and will blow you away from the minute you drive in the gate.
