Andy & Amy were the Wedding Photographers in Orvieto, Umbria, Italy for the wedding of Chris & Van.

Wow – it’s been a wedding whirlwind week away: We’ve done Home (Umbria) to Pompeii – Amalfi – Rome – Liverpool – Bury St Edmunds – Liverpool – Rome – Sorrento – Home. All in 7 days. Unfortunately, one thing that suffers with so much travelling is the blog – many apologies – there’ll be a couple of updates this week.

We travelled to one of our favourite wedding places, Orvieto (where we got married actually!) on one of the hottest days so far this year for Chris & Van’s wedding. They’d chosen the stunning La Badia for their special day – a recommendation of ours and it was amazing! The evening setting for dinner was just beautiful & the Italian’s have the perfect knack of making everything look so classy.

One of my favourites. This is a table-detail image. The camera is focussed on the nearest table whilst showing the entire scene. Chris & Van entering the room to see their tables for the first time finishes it off for me.

Sometimes the table plan is somewhere that allows you to catch guests studying it.

Amy was the Wedding Photographer at Castello di Montegridolfo, Emilia Romagna, Italy for the wedding of Kerry & Vanessa.

Having photographed a wedding at Castello di Montegridolfo previously and therefore knowing what a fantastic place it is, I was really looking forward to going back there for the spectacular wedding of Kerry & Vanessa on Tuesday the 13th of July. When I arrived, Vanessa was having her hair and make-up done wearing traditional red pyjamas (having had to sleep in them) whilst Kerry and the boys were all ready to go and were doing their best to stay cool – the temperatures already soaring into the high 30s.

Kerry and Vanessa’s attention to detail was second-to-none as they treated their guests to not one but two ‘aperitivi,’ a photo montage of their childhoods and blossoming relationship, a same-day edit from the wonderful videographers (who had flown in from Hong Kong) and a brilliantly-choreographed first dance.

The 10-course wedding breakfast had to be seen (even better tasted!) to be believed and the surprise fireworks were magnificent. What a day!

I had to post this one. The carved watermelons are always good but these are incredibly good!

I love how in Italy you’ll often find characters amongst the staff. This guy kept everyone entertained for ages – throwing glasses & bottles whilst making cocktails.

Amy was the Wedding Photographer in Gardone Riviera, Lake Garda, Italy for the wedding of Ian & Chloe.

It was a baking-hot July day when Ian & Chloe tied the knot in the beautiful little town of Gardone Riviera on the western shores of Lake Garda, Italy. Since I first became a wedding photographer, Lake Garda has become the place where I have photographed more weddings than anywhere else. Normally Malcesine plays host, but the town of Gardone Riviera is also beautiful and was actually the first town on the Lake that Andy & I ever visited together.

The ‘Comune’ building is lovely – perched up high with wonderful views over Lake Garda and the reception venue, The Grand Hotel, is perfectly positioned. What I especially loved about the Grand Hotel is that it is in the centre of the little town which meant that it was easy for me to get some lovely shots of Ian & Chloe meandering through the pretty streets of Gardone Riviera. Such a fun couple: Chloe and her bridesmaids couldn’t stop laughing all day long whilst I think Ian rather enjoyed the ‘modelling!’

Colour! The Grand Hotel viewed from the Lake-side. This time of year at Lake Garda is especially colourful with the geraniums and oleander in full bloom.

Chloe was wondering if Ian would notice if she drank the bottle of Champagne, given as a gift, before the wedding.

Here come the guys. Light-coloured suits definitely suit the baking-hot temperatures.

Amy was the Wedding Photographer in Chelsea & Kensington, UK for the wedding of Scott & Lorraine.

Another wedding day with fabulous weather! Lorraine & Scott were married on the 26th of June at the Chelsea & Kensington Registry Office on the King’s Road in London. It’s actually the first time that I’ve photographed a wedding in a UK Registry Office and I thought the ceremony was lovely and made to be very personal and relaxed.

A routemaster – old-fashioned double-decker bus – transported the guests to the back of the Royal Albert Hall where we had time for a few photographs including the family group shots. Just a short walk around the corner and we arrived at The Gore Hotel for the wedding reception. A luxurious hotel in the very heart of London with the most spectacular reception room called the Tapestry Room.

Amy was the Wedding Photographer at St. Christopher’s Church, Pott Shrigley & Shrigley Hall Hotel Cheshire, UK for the wedding of Richard & Rebecca.

On the 19th of June, Richard & Rebecca were married in the beautiful, rural village of Pott Shrigley in Cheshire. Rarely have I come across a more relaxed bride as Rebecca, tucking into a sandwich as soon as she was ready and the dress was on! The day flowed with the same relaxed vibe as the morning preps and the Vicar followed suit by sharing holiday anecdotes as part of the sermon.

Richard beamed all day long and the weather stayed warm and blue – in fact, don’t want to speak too soon but all of my recent weddings, whether in Italy or the UK, have been glorious.
