Ben & Stacey

May 31st, 2007 admin 14 comments

We were in the UK on Saturday for Ben & Stacey’s Wedding and their reception at Whitmore Hall. They were very laid-back and we’ve got some stunning shots. It was also great to see some old friends: Dave & Laurie (we photographed their wedding a year ago almost to the day) and Toby & Carly. We also got to meet one of our future brides – Rebecca and her fiance James. What was especially cool was the way a curtain fell revealing the dance floor/band/DJ as the best man finished his speech. The first dance kicked off the evening party within minutes; very slick and a superb idea to make the most of the time available on the day.

Thanks folks for your hospitality – on with the images:

Ben, his Dad & the lads – obviously extremely stressed ;)

One of my favourites of Amy’s shots. I love the 3D feel of this and the delicate skin tones complemented by the soft blue background lighting.

The 85mm at F1.2 helps to ‘pop out’ the subjects from the distracting background. I love the story of this image.

Inquisitive!

We always ask the guests to throw confetti “high”. This is why – wonderful! I’ve a great shot of Amy taking this image – she’s got as much confetti on her as Ben & Stacey. I’ll post it another time.

Now that’s a very ‘Hollywood’ look!

B&S: Enjoy your honeymoon – and be excited about your album, it’s gonna be amazing!

Back home

We’ve had a fabulous few days away: firstly shooting the wedding of Ben & Stacey, then Barnaby James’ Naming Ceremony – followed by Paul & Emma’s usual great hosting, some great food at G&J’s and then it was time to head back home.

We managed to leave Liverpool airport more or less on time, but the aircraft had a lightning-strike within a couple of minutes of getting airborne. It was quite spectacular – the flash lit up the entire cabin and the wing took quite a hit (right by our window). Unfortunately, despite carrying on as far as the English Channel, the pilot announced that they’d been instructed to turn around and head for Stansted to have the aircraft checked out. Eventually, after over 2 hours on the ground we were given the all-clear and we were quickly airborne and on our way.

Jasmine has had her usual great time in Kennels over here (it’s more like a holiday camp!) and we’re beginning the task of sorting through Ben & Stacey’s images; we’ll post some tomorrow – we’ve got some beautiful images to share. -AT
