Andy & Amy were the wedding photographers at Ravello Town Hall & Villa Cimbrone, Ravello, Amalfi Coast for the wedding of Ian & Sam.

Since becoming wedding photographers years ago we have heard lots of great reviews about Villa Cimbrone in Ravello on the Amalfi Coast. We finally got the opportunity to photograph there for the wedding of Ian & Sam on the 28th August. Villa Cimbrone more than lived up to its incredible reputation – what a jaw-dropping place it is! The view from the terrace is reputed to be one of, if not THE best view in the whole of Italy and is certainly a sight that will stick with us for many years to come.

A wedding photographer’s dream, Ravello is perfect in every way – an elegant little town, high up in the hills with gorgeous, narrow streets and blooming with colourful flowers. I have to also mention the Infinito Suite at the 5 star Palazzo Sasso in which Sam and her bridesmaids got ready – Wow! I could have spent a week or two there with its stunning views and jacuzzi on the terrace. If only!

We don’t normally post examples of the formal images because I think many photographers hate doing them (as do many couples!) But, for many, they’re an essential part of a wedding – a historical record of the people their and what they wore etc. When you’re as organised as Ian & Sam were on their wedding day, these images can be taken pretty quickly and then everyone gets back to the party. Well worth the effort eh?

Amy was the Wedding Photographer in Sorrento, Italy for the wedding of Gav & Louise.

The Cloisters in Sorrento is a beautiful place to marry, especially if you fancy getting married outdoors – something that’s not common at all in Italy.

Love this! Louise had been looking forward to an ice-cream all morning and took the opportunity the moment the ceremony had finished. Heaven!

The wedding party walked to Photo Bar in Sorrento after The Cloisters ceremony. They laughed all afternoon long.

Amy was the Wedding Photographer at Amalfi Cathedral & Hotel Miramalfi, Italy for the wedding of Guy & Helen.

We know a couple of wedding photographers in Amalfi. I don’t envy them constantly having to cope with the driving around the Amalfi Coast however! Either way, it’s more than worth the journey. I mean, look at the first image below: that’s Amalfi clinging onto the cliffs. Such a stunning little town and an enormous privilege to be the chosen photographer for the beautiful wedding of Guy & Helen in Amalfi Cathedral itself. The locals and tourists welcomed the bride, groom and their guests as the whole town seemed to join in the celebrations.

Hotel Miramalfi was host to the reception. The guests were treated to a wonderful spread of ‘aperativi’ on a balcony with unspoiled views of Amalfi Town and the Mediterranean. Later in the evening a hidden piano was unveiled and a talented guest played and sung as Guy & Helen did their first dance to Snow Patrol’s Chasing Cars – one of my favorites.

For me, an amazing moment. Watching Helen and her Dad make their way up the steps to Amalfi Cathedral, with the town in the background and so many people stopping to watch was magical.

Helen’s entrance was also pretty eye-watering. Amalfi Cathedral is a jaw-dropping kind of place.

Andy & Amy were the Wedding Photographers in Orvieto, Umbria, Italy for the wedding of Chris & Van.

Wow – it’s been a wedding whirlwind week away: We’ve done Home (Umbria) to Pompeii – Amalfi – Rome – Liverpool – Bury St Edmunds – Liverpool – Rome – Sorrento – Home. All in 7 days. Unfortunately, one thing that suffers with so much travelling is the blog – many apologies – there’ll be a couple of updates this week.

We travelled to one of our favourite wedding places, Orvieto (where we got married actually!) on one of the hottest days so far this year for Chris & Van’s wedding. They’d chosen the stunning La Badia for their special day – a recommendation of ours and it was amazing! The evening setting for dinner was just beautiful & the Italian’s have the perfect knack of making everything look so classy.

Anyway, on with some images:

One of my favourites. This is a table-detail image. The camera is focussed on the nearest table whilst showing the entire scene. Chris & Van entering the room to see their tables for the first time finishes it off for me.

Sometimes the table plan is somewhere that allows you to catch guests studying it.

A beautiful day, they couldn’t have done it any better. Can’t wait to finish the album :) Thanks Chris & Van for everything, especially for looking after us on the day. A big thank you also to the many, many guests who made us feel so welcome.

Amy was the Wedding Photographer at Castello di Montegridolfo, Emilia Romagna, Italy for the wedding of Kerry & Vanessa.

Having photographed a wedding at Castello di Montegridolfo previously and therefore knowing what a fantastic place it is, I was really looking forward to going back there for the spectacular wedding of Kerry & Vanessa on Tuesday the 13th of July. When I arrived, Vanessa was having her hair and make-up done wearing traditional red pyjamas (having had to sleep in them) whilst Kerry and the boys were all ready to go and were doing their best to stay cool – the temperatures already soaring into the high 30s.

Kerry and Vanessa’s attention to detail was second-to-none as they treated their guests to not one but two ‘aperitivi,’ a photo montage of their childhoods and blossoming relationship, a same-day edit from the wonderful videographers (who had flown in from Hong Kong) and a brilliantly-choreographed first dance.

The 10-course wedding breakfast had to be seen (even better tasted!) to be believed and the surprise fireworks were magnificent. What a day!

I had to post this one. The carved watermelons are always good but these are incredibly good!

I love how in Italy you’ll often find characters amongst the staff. This guy kept everyone entertained for ages – throwing glasses & bottles whilst making cocktails.
