Glyn & Sue

October 28th, 2006 admin 1 comment

The Red Lion Hotel in Shrewsbury was the setting for Glyn & Sue’s wedding on Saturday 21st October. It’s taken us a while to post this as we’re in the middle of moving (UK) houses and we’ve just had a week with no internet access – nightmare ;) The weather gradually worsened during the course of the afternoon to the point where it wasn’t possible to photograph them at all outside – which was a pity as we were looking forward to a wander through the town centre; none the less, we found plenty of places of interest and angles inside the old hotel and we’re really looking forward to seeing the rest of the images ourselves. -AT

Here are two that caught my eye immediately:

John & Erica

…were married on Friday 20th October at a Golf & Country Club on the outskirts of Knutsford. They walked out from the ceremony into brilliant sunshine (so brilliant, everyone was squinting!) so we left the few formal photographs that they’d asked for until everyone had had a chance for a drink at the reception room on the other side of the building (read “shady!”)

As a way of filling the inevitable gap between the wedding breakfast and the evening party, they’d arranged for a casino to be setup and all of the guests were given some ‘pretend’ cash to play with. I think it was one of the kids that ended up cleaning up on the roulette wheel :)

Have a great honeymoon folks – we’re away from home until next weekend so we’ll add some photos to the blog then! -AT

John & Karen

October 9th, 2006 admin No comments

Good weather rewarded John & Karen and their decision to marry this Saturday – at the beginning of Autumn. It’s been a strange summer in many respects for our weddings – August in the UK and September in Italy being particularly wet this year. Regardless, none of our couples have let it spoil the enjoyment of their day although it can restrict what you can do with photography options. Even with good weather however, it’s sometimes the venue itself that causes difficulty for some photographers. For us, modern venues offer different challenges and there are often plenty of lines and shapes to keep us busy. Here’s one of Amy’s ’shoe shots’ during the ‘getting ready’ period, followed by a natural capture of the lovely Karen. Finally, our take of the couple on a modern staircase. -AT

Mark & Helen

October 1st, 2006 admin No comments

Another reasonably wet day but once more the rain stopped at just the right time. Mark & Helen were married at Statham Lodge yesterday. The registrar initially ignored us (quite rudely) – seemingly surprised that we wanted to photograph anything other than a ‘pretend’ signing of the register. Few of our couples like the fake stuff so we generally don’t bother with those shots – preferring to capture whatever ‘real’ moments we can. We managed to take some photographs from the back of the room and there look to be some other lovely images captured around the venue itself. It was a really laid-back day and the kids even found time for a game of football on the lawn – a perfect way of entertaining energetic youngsters! -AT.
